The Consumer's choice Nowadays one can find numerous styles and sizes of dining room tables. However there are a couple of factors they should consider while shopping around. The first is in terms of seating and the number of people they anticipate they will need to seat. The smallest dining room tables comfortably seat four while a mid-range table can seat up to six. Larger tables can accommodate eight or more. One option that can allow a consumer to customize their seating and the size of the table as they find necessary is to opt for a drop leaf table with an insert that can be easily removed when additional seating is not needed. Buying tips The first thing that should be taken into consideration while shopping for new table is size. It should not be too bulky for the dining room, so it is important to be realistic and to take measurements. Since nobody will want to be the person who has to squeeze in order to fit into his/her dinner chair, a table should be such that leaves 30 inches of room from its edge to the wall. This way, chairs can be comfortably pulled in and out. It is also important that table is not too bulky. Many of today's tables come with expandable capabilities, such as removable leaves and flip-tops, which allow you to entertain guests on special occasions. It is important to inspect the quality of the construction materials used in these expandable tables. You should be sure that any leaf table you choose has solid runners, while a flip-top should have strong hinges.
